SUMMARY:Marston Forest 5k
DESCRIPTION:Enter here\nHow it all Started\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Autumn 2004 Ampthill & Flitwick Flyers mused about their portfolio of races and were looking to extend the races on offer. After much consideration Flyer\, Zac Hollis coined the idea of racing in Marston Vale Millennium Country Park. \nThe Flyers Committee embraced the opportunity\, and the Forest Centre were quick to get involved. The calendar was checked\, and a 5k distance and date was agreed. The race would be called the “Marston Vale Forest 5K” and it has taken place every year since then. \nSo\, whether you an experienced runner looking to achieve a new PB or you want to run your first ‘official’ 5k this race is for you. The course is flat\, and you run around paths within the beautiful Marston Vale Country Park. \nWe are known for our friendly well organised races with encouraging marshals to cheer you on. \nFREE parking is available at this Friday evening race and is popular with runners from Bedford\, Luton\, Hitchin\, and Milton Keynes. \n\n\n\n\n\n Contact Us\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Ampthill & Flitwick Flyers Marston Forest 5k chip timed race takes place every summer\, it  is popular with both experienced athletes and those runners looking to do their first official 5k race! \nWe hope you will come and join us and have fun in a friendly environment that welcomes all abilities. \nA fast\, flat course in the beautiful Marston Vale country park with lots of PB potential! \nThere is also a free junior 1K fun run before main race\, all participants receive a medal! \nFollow our dedicated Marston Forest 5k Facebook page to keep up to date with the latest information about the race and lots more. \n

SUMMARY:Stanton Gate Crasher - Cancelled but back next year!

This will take part on field and will be approx. 1000mtr out and back course. There will be no entry fee for the fun run\, instead we would kindly ask for donations to be made to our chosen charity for 2024\, which is ‘Shropshire Mental Health Support’ \nThe 5km ‘The Stanton Stile Hop’ (now Gate Crasher)\, is the race that started it all off in 2018. This stunning course will take runners on a 5km loop on a mixture of terrain from beautiful fileds to stunning woodland trails with a few quiet country lanes. As the event name implies\, there are number of small gates on the course which all runners will need to negotiate as part of the event. \nThe 10km multi terrain race is a beautiful extension of the 5km route. At the 4km way point of the 5km route\, you will be diverted off on to an additional 5km section where you will re-join the original 5km route. Again\, the route is mostly on a mixture of field\, woodland and farm track with a little bit of quiet country lane.\nBoth the 5km and 10km race will be started in the same location. \nRunners of all abilities are very welcome. The 5km has an age restriction of 9 years and older and we ask that all children under 12 years old are within arm’s reach of an accompanying adult throughout the race. \nThe 10km race has an age restriction of 16 years and older. \n(where the child is 16 by or on the 26th April\, 2024) \nSafety\nThe event will be marshaled with one of our helpers in high visibility vests at locations throughout the course.\nAll course marshals will be in radio/phone contact with the Race Director \nThe course will also be marked with highly visible arrow boards.\nA full and detailed risk\nassessment is in place and can be viewed on race day on the main information board.\nParticipant safety – Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage\, symbols and colour relating to participant maps\, facilities and direction.\nPlease self-monitor the weather and arrive with suitable clothing for the event itself and for afterwards. Please remember this is a multi-terrain event so please take this into consideration with regards to footwear choice. \nEvent location \nRace HQ for 2024 will be located at Papermill Park Ventures. Postcode SY4 4LU.\nRace start is located 100 mtrs away.\nRegistration will be open from 9am on the morning of the event and your race number will be issued upon morning registration. \nParking \nThere will be adequate on site parking at the Race HQ.Specific details to follow nearer the time of the event. Marshals will be on hand to assist and advise with parking on the day.. \nRace Briefing \nA full race briefing will be given 15 minutes before the 11am race start at 10:45am. All runners are asked to attend so that important course information can be given out. If you do not attend and something happens to you during the event we cannot be held responsible for not advising. \nFood and refreshments \nTea\, Coffee\, soft drinks and cakes will be available for a small donation. \nToilets \nToilets are located in the registration lodge at the event HQ. \nPrizes\nPrizes will be awarded to 1st\, 2nd and 3rd placed male and female. \nIn addition to this\, all runners will receive a free bottle of water\, chocolate bar & finishers medal. \nRefunds \nOnce you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions and completed the registration process\, your entry fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. \nCourse Monitoring \nAny participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event officials course marshal\, or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner\, or who is offensive by action or language to officials\, volunteers\, participants or spectators may be disqualified by the event and future participation at the discretion of event officials.\nAny participant who has been found by a course marshal\, event official or surveillance equipment to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the event (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from future participation in this event.\nAny person who participates in the event without a current official event bib number not officially assigned to him/her is subject to removal and disqualification. \nCancellations \nEvent officials reserve the right\, to modify\, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules. Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. Failure to follow these event rules\, as can be amended\, will result in immediate disqualification.\nEvent officials reserve the right to delay\, cancel\, alter the route or suspend the event due to inclement weather in accordance with Emergency Protocol on severe emergencies and/or inclement weather.
