So apparently the 3rd Monday in January is the day we feel most gloomy and depressed!
Where weather=W, debt=d, time since Christmas=T, time since failing our new year’s resolutions=Q, low motivational levels=M and the feeling of a need to take action=Na. This is in fact a nonsensical equation. The measurements are not compatible! It was actually made up to help travel companies sell holidays and I believe they are doing a roaring trade this January.
It is, however, true that SAD ‘seasonal affective disorder’ affects a lot of people, so go out of your way to invite people to do something nice, meet up in a cafe for coffee and cake, go for runs together to keep the motivation going, enter the Walton Wobble and look forward to a fab pancake, help us raise money for Race against Blood Cancer – feel good about yourself.
So how are you all feeling today? I am feeling quite pleased with myself as I am on day 16 of RED and I am sticking to drinking only on Fridays. My only questionable resolution at the moment is ‘read a book every month’. I am too damn tired to read – must be all that running and riding my bike! I am going to have to binge read.
At the weekend I did a short run and a short bike ride but then on Sunday did 36 miles involving a stop at the highly recommended Cobwebs cafe in Abbotts Bromley – now did I mention going to a cafe for cake and coffee? – they have so many different types of cake – we shared Lemon drizzle cake and Coffee and Walnut cake but are going to have to go back to try the other tempting selections on offer. I was going to take a photo but the cakes disappeared too quickly. Afterwards if you are not on your bikes then you can go for a walk at Blithfield reservoir and blow your own cobwebs way.
